Golf GCS Uploader is a data pipeline machine that uploads scraped golf tee time records to Google Cloud Storage (GCS) in NDJSON format, ensuring clean structure, standardized naming, and rich scrape metadata for downstream processing.
  • Detail Description :

    Golf GCS Uploader

The Golf GCS Uploader is a data ingestion machine that receives golf tee time records from upstream scraper processes and uploads them to Google Cloud Storage (GCS) in newline-delimited JSON (NDJSON) format.

Data is stored in a hierarchical GCS folder structure organized by source channel, course name, and scrape timestamp. To maintain consistency across all sources, channel names and course names are automatically normalized to lowercase with underscores.

Each uploaded record is enriched with operational metadata to ensure traceability and auditability across the pipeline. This metadata includes the scrape timestamp, a unique scrape run identifier, and the scraper version responsible for generating the record.

By enforcing structured storage, standardized naming, and metadata enrichment, the Golf GCS Uploader enables reliable downstream analytics, historical analysis, and scalable data processing workflows.

Uploads go to the 'golf-tee-time-raw' GCS bucket. Data is organized in hierarchical paths: source_channel/course_name/scrape_date/scrape_hour/scrape_minute/filename

Records are stored in NDJSON (newline-delimited JSON) format, where each line is a complete JSON object. Each object includes the tee time record plus metadata (scrape_timestamp, scrape_run_id, scraper_version).

A GCS service account key file (gcs-uploader-key.json) must be present in the same directory as the script. The service account must have write permissions to the 'golf-tee-time-raw' bucket.
